Solar That Means Business

Smith Dosser

Smith Dosser partnered with ABS Energy Solutions to take control of rising energy costs by installing a 25kW commercial solar system. The results were immediate: their first bill showed a 70% reduction in peak usage, cutting monthly energy spend by $595. By purchasing the system outright, they also benefited from the 100% instant asset write-off. ABS and Enercom Energy then secured a better grid tariff, dropping their peak rate from 39c to 30c per kWh. The combination of solar generation and optimized energy procurement transformed what was once their largest operational expense into a strategic advantage, allowing Smith Dosser to reinvest those savings back into growing their business.

Solar That Moulds a Brighter Future

Viking Plastics

Vikings Plastics is powering its operations with a high-performance solar energy system that delivers measurable financial and environmental results. The 64.38 kW installation generates approximately 78,000 kWh of clean electricity each year, covering around 78% of site energy needs while maximising on-site self-consumption. This renewable energy shift delivers annual electricity savings of more than $15,000, achieving payback in just over four years and unlocking lifetime net savings exceeding $300,000. Beyond cost reductions, the system prevents approximately 84 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually, reinforcing Vikings Plastics’ commitment to responsible and efficient manufacturing. By integrating solar into daily operations, Vikings Plastics demonstrates how smart energy investment drives long-term resilience, sustainability, and competitive advantage.

Solar That Serves a Greater Purpose

The Salvation Army

In November 2025, The Salvation Army partnering with ABS Energy Solutions opened a landmark 5 MW solar farm at The Basin, turning a historic piece of land into a modern clean-energy hub. Equipped with over 11,000 high-efficiency solar panels, the farm now generates enough renewable power to cover the organisation’s Victorian electricity needs, reducing emissions while lowering operational costs by roughly $1.5 million each year. This shift to self-generated renewable energy enables The Salvation Army to direct more resources into community care, aligning their long-standing social mission with a strong environmental commitment. The project highlights how purpose-driven organisations can lead the way in sustainable energy solutions.
